Strategic Initiatives
Designing and launching durable institutions
The transition to a thriving, low-carbon economy requires more than good ideas.
It depends on trusted institutions, coordinated action, catalytic capital, and the infrastructure needed to turn ambition into measurable impact. We design, launch, and strengthen initiatives that make information more actionable, connect capital and talent to high-impact opportunities, and build the partnerships and alignment needed to unlock progress.
Our Core approach
Act early, partner deeply, stay close to execution, and build organizations that last.
We stay actively engaged through the early stages by combining catalytic capital, staff time, and partnerships, then step back as initiatives mature into durable, independent organizations equipped to endure and grow.
Allied Care Coordination Initiative
Connecting care. Improving lives.
The Allied Care Coordination Initiative (ACCI) improves care for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness and serious mental illness by strengthening coordination between healthcare providers, outreach teams, and community-based organizations. Working with NYC Health + Hospitals and leading service providers, ACCI helps connect individuals to care, housing, and support services through dedicated care coordination staff, improved communication, and shared protocols. The initiative aims to improve health outcomes, reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization, and advance a scalable model for serving one of New York City’s highest-need populations.

Allied Climate Partners
Unlocking catalytic capital for climate solutions in emerging economies.
Allied Climate Partners (ACP) is a philanthropic investment organization accelerating the growth of climate and clean energy solutions in emerging economies. ACP provides catalytic, risk-tolerant capital to locally managed climate funds, helping them attract significantly larger amounts of commercial investment from development finance institutions, multilateral banks, and private investors. By de-risking early-stage opportunities and strengthening local financial ecosystems, ACP mobilizes capital at scale to advance decarbonization, promote economic development, and build climate resilience where emissions growth is fastest.

Allied Talent Partners
Mobilizing talent for Africa’s sustainable future
Allied Talent Partners (ATP) is a mission-driven, not-for-profit talent marketplace that connects vetted, experienced professionals to high-impact, fixed-term opportunities in energy access and sustainable development across Africa. Incubated and developed by Three Cairns Group, ATP enables organizations to access specialized expertise quickly by handling sourcing, matching, contracting, and compliance. ATP helps solve critical human-capital bottlenecks that slow progress, enabling partners to execute projects faster while strengthening local capacity and fueling economic vitality.

Global Carbon Market Utility
Unlocking carbon markets to deliver measurable climate impact
The Global Carbon Market Utility (GCMU) is a public-purpose organization building the financial market infrastructure needed for carbon markets to function at scale. GCMU is owned by the Global Carbon Market Utility Governing Council, an independent 501(c)(3), backed by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Three Cairns Group and operates as a neutral utility, independent of any commercial interest. It provides what fragmented carbon market systems lack: a single, trusted source of truth for legal title and ownership. By reducing risk, lowering costs, and improving confidence, GCMU enables broader market participation and unlocks capital for climate action.
