Founders’ Initiatives:
Promoting Sustainability and Improving Lives

Beyond our core mission, we support a handful of initiatives designed to build a brighter and more inclusive future.

A healthy democracy is vital to making progress on climate solutions, for the citizens of our country and the well-being of our global society. Three Cairns Group supports efforts and organizations that seek to protect U.S. democracy by bolstering democratic participation and strengthening civic institutions.

Women are significantly underrepresented in the private equity industry. Three Cairns Group is working to understand and address this discrepancy through research, data tracking and reporting on North American private equity. We will work to document the differences in career paths between male and female professionals in the industry with an eye towards fostering greater gender representation. Jill Fink, a finance professional and advisor on women in business, is leading this work.

Care Coordination Initiative for Homeless New Yorkers Experiencing Serious Mental Illness

Homeless services providers, community-based health care, and hospital systems play vital roles in delivering essential services to homeless New Yorkers with serious mental illness (SMI). However, the complexity and scale of the system create fragmentation in care management, making the lives of homeless SMI individuals and the jobs of providers even harder. Mental health experts and advocates consistently underscore the need for targeted interventions to improve coordination across the continuum of care as a crucial and attainable solution for improving care and access to services. In partnership with key stakeholders, including NYC Health + Hospitals Corporation, homeless services providers and philanthropic partners, Three Cairns Group is exploring the development of an initiative aimed at enhancing care coordination for homeless SMI individuals. Our objective is to strengthen access to services and care in order to improve health outcomes for SMI individuals.
