Sarah Charlop-Powers
Program Officer
As the Program Officer, Climate at Three Cairns Group, Sarah brings more than 25 years of experience building organizations and initiatives in the environmental sector. In her most recent role, Sarah was the co-founder and executive director of the Natural Areas Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing the care of urban natural areas in New York City and across the nation through innovative research, partnership, and advocacy.
Sarah draws on her background in climate mitigation and adaptation, land use planning, and economics in her work. Her previous experience includes working as a planner at Jonathan Rose Companies and as the Parks Manager at Scenic Hudson. She also worked as a consultant for NYSERDA and the National Association of Urban Transportation Officials. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Binghamton University and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, where she was a Doris Duke Conservation Fellow.
Sarah joined Three Cairns because she is passionate about Three Cairns Group commitment to embracing innovation and collaboration to make equitable progress towards addressing the climate crisis.
